Noi Bai International Airport
Noi Bai is north of the city, with two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international flights.
Bus 86 is the express airport bus run by Transerco's Hanoi BRT Fast Bus Enterprise.
The operator's site gives the stops:
- Into town: Terminal 2 arrivals (first floor, column 14), Terminal 1 arrivals (column 12), Long Biên interchange, 162 Trần Quang Khải, the Opera House, the Melia hotel and Ga Hà Nội.
- To the airport: Ga Hà Nội, 59 Lý Thường Kiệt, the Bờ Hồ post office by Hoan Kiem Lake, 23 Hàng Tre, the Long Biên interchange, Yên Phụ, Quảng An market and Âu Cơ, then both terminals.
For October 2026 the operator lists a bus every 45 minutes, the first leaving Ga Hà Nội at 05:30 and the last leaving Noi Bai at 22:00, about an hour each way, for 50,000₫. The route does not take monthly passes.
City buses 07 (to Cầu Giấy) and 109 (to Bến xe Mỹ Đình) are ordinary subsidised routes, cheaper and slower. Since 1 November 2024 Hanoi's subsidised fares go by distance, from 8,000₫ under 15 km to 20,000₫ over 40 km.
Straight from the airport. Many companies that run buses to Sapa, Ha Giang, Ninh Binh and Ha Long pick up at Noi Bai itself, so you need not go into the city at all: the route pages list which.

For October 2026 these clustered on the east side of the Old Quarter and around Hoan Kiem Lake: Trần Quang Khải, Trần Nhật Duật, Nguyễn Hữu Huân, Hàng Chĩnh and Lê Lai streets, and the Hanoi Opera House.
Bus stations still matter for some companies: Bến xe Mỹ Đình for some Ha Giang and Ha Long buses, Bến xe Nước Ngầm for the long sleeper buses to Đà Nẵng and Ho Chi Minh City.
By air. From Noi Bai, Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, Sun PhuQuoc Airways and Vietravel fly to Ho Chi Minh City, Đà Nẵng and Phu Quoc, among other airports.
