Ho Chi Minh City: airport, stations and onward journeys
The airport, Tân Sơn Nhất (SGN), has three separate terminals: T2 for international flights, T3 for Vietnam Airlines group domestic flights and T1 for VietJet domestic flights in October 2026. Bus 109 runs from T3 to Bến xe buýt Sài Gòn in the centre for 15,000₫, every 40 to 45 minutes from 05:30 to 22:00. Trains leave Ga Sài Gòn; long-distance buses leave company offices around Phạm Ngũ Lão, Bến xe Miền Tây or Bến xe Miền Đông mới.

Arriving by air, rail or road
By air. Your airline decides the terminal (see above); bus 109 leaves from T3.
By train. The SE trains end at Ga Sài Gòn. Southbound they also stop at Biên Hòa, in Đồng Nai province 29 km out, and at Dĩ An.
From Hanoi the train takes 32 hours 45 minutes to about 38 hours 30 minutes (Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City); from Nha Trang 7 hours 48 minutes to 10 hours 23 minutes (Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang).
By bus. Long-distance buses end at their company's office, many around Phạm Ngũ Lão and Nguyễn Cư Trinh, or at the two big bus stations below.
Tân Sơn Nhất: which terminal, and bus 109
Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN)
Which terminal. Vietnam Airlines Group's notice of August 2025 moved all its domestic flights, Pacific Airlines, VASCO and the Côn Đảo services included, to T3 from 19 August 2025. In October 2026, VietJet's domestic departures were at T1 and the Côn Đảo flights at T3.
International flights use T2.
Changing terminals. The three terminals are separate buildings. Vietnam Airlines' passenger notice (April 2025) says the move between them takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic, and that the airport runs a free shuttle bus from T1 and T2 to T3, on average every 20 minutes.
Bus 109 into the centre. It runs between T3 and Bến xe buýt Sài Gòn (Saigon city-bus station), out through Phạm Ngũ Lão and back through Hàm Nghi and Lê Lai. Under the city transport authority's timetable in force since 20 October 2025:
- From the airport: 05:30 to 22:00; from the city: 05:45 to 22:15.
- A bus every 40 to 45 minutes, about 45 minutes' ride, 15,000₫.
It no longer stops at T1 or T2, whatever older guides say. FUTA City Bus, which runs it, answers on 1900 63 84 94.
Long Thành is not open yet. The new airport east of the city is due to start commercial flights from 24 December 2026, according to the airports corporation ACV as reported by Nhân Dân on 4 October 2026, beginning with 20 to 30 flights a day by Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet on domestic and short international routes. Until then every flight to Ho Chi Minh City uses Tân Sơn Nhất.
Leaving by train, bus or plane
Bus stations. Bến xe Miền Đông mới (the new Eastern bus station) is at 501 Hoàng Hữu Nam, and Bến xe Miền Tây (Western bus station) at 395 Kinh Dương Vương, according to their operators. Buses to the Mekong delta and to Hà Tiên for the Phu Quoc boats use Miền Tây.
Trains. For October 2026, SE8 left Ga Sài Gòn at 06:00 and reached Nha Trang at 13:43, a soft seat from 239,000₫; the evening trains reach Nha Trang in the small hours and Đà Nẵng the next day.
Flights. T3 for the Vietnam Airlines group, T1 for VietJet in October 2026, T2 for international. Buses to Phnom Penh leave from company offices around Phạm Ngũ Lão.

Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau: two and a half hours by van
By limousine van, about 2 hours 30 minutes. For October 2026, Halong Travel Limousine left 32 Nguyễn Thái Bình at 10:00, 12:00 and 13:00 for its office at 215 Thống Nhất Mới in Vung Tau, for 284,894₫ online; the return left at 09:00, 12:00 and 14:00 at the same fare.

Vung Tau has been part of Ho Chi Minh City since 1 July 2025, when Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu province was merged into it. Flights that appear in a Vung Tau search land at Côn Đảo airport (VCS), not in Vung Tau city.
Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne: three and a half hours by bus
Hanh Cafe's buses take 3 hours 30 minutes. For October 2026, its 36-berth sleeper left 273 Phạm Ngũ Lão at 09:45 and reached 117 Nguyễn Đình Chiểu in Mui Ne at 13:15, for 221,760₫ online; its single cabins at 11:00 and 12:50 cost 241,920₫, the 12:50 dropping at Centara Mirage Resort instead.

Since 1 July 2025 Mui Ne is in Lâm Đồng province, which absorbed Bình Thuận.

For October 2026, Meko Limo's 10-seat vans left 189 Đào Duy Từ at 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00 for 1 Đường B18 in Can Tho, for 321,750₫ online; the return left at 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00 at the same fare. Other buses in the same search leave from Bến xe Miền Tây.

Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap: an overnight bus, or fly
The overnight bus takes about 12 hours. For October 2026, Virak Buntham Express left Ho Chi Minh City at 17:00 and reached Siem Reap at 05:00, for 1,348,327₫ online; the return left Siem Reap at 20:45 and arrived at 11:30, 14 hours 45 minutes, same fare. The listing names only the cities; the company gives the boarding address and the border gate.

Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao: a one-hour flight from T3
Fly: about 55 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes from Tân Sơn Nhất Terminal 3 to Côn Đảo airport (VCS). For October 2026, Vietnam Airlines' VN8087 left at 15:15 and landed at 16:10 for 1,370,342₫ online, and VN8089 at 12:10 for 1,574,689₫; back, VN8058 left Côn Đảo at 07:50 and VN8088 at 13:35.

Côn Đảo flights moved to T3 with the rest of the Vietnam Airlines group on 19 August 2025, and were at T3 in October 2026; older advice sending them to T1 is out of date. Côn Đảo is now part of Ho Chi Minh City too, since the July 2025 merger.
