Leaving Ho Chi Minh City
Flights leave from Tan Son Nhat. Since 2025 most domestic flights use Terminal 3; VietJet still used Terminal 1 in October 2026, so read the terminal on your booking.
Buses to Hà Tiên for the boat mostly leave from Bến xe Miền Tây (Mien Tay bus station), on the western side of the city, or from a bus company's office. For October 2026 the combined bus and boat tickets online left Ho Chi Minh City between 21:30 and midnight to meet the morning boats.

Phu Quoc airport, Bai Vong or Thanh Thoi
Cảng Bãi Vòng (Bai Vong port) is where the Superdong and Phu Quoc Express fast boats from Hà Tiên and Rạch Giá come in.
Thạnh Thới port is where the slower Thạnh Thới boats and car ferries land. It is Thạnh Thới's own terminal, which the company calls Bến Bãi Vòng, separate from Cảng Bãi Vòng where the fast boats land, so check which one is on your ticket before arranging a pickup.
Luggage, weather and the car ferry
Phu Quoc is no longer in Kiên Giang province: since 2025 it has been a special zone (đặc khu) of An Giang province, and Superdong's own addresses now read "Đặc khu Phú Quốc, Tỉnh An Giang". Many booking pages and guides still say Kiên Giang.
The fast boats run in the morning and early afternoon only. The last Superdong from Hà Tiên for October 2026 departures was at 13:15 and the last Phu Quoc Express at 11:45, so a bus that arrives in Hà Tiên after midday leaves you with the slow boat or the next morning.
The Thạnh Thới boats from Hà Tiên also carry vehicles and run more often, eleven sailings from 03:30 to 18:00 for October 2026, but take 3 hours 10 minutes, at 312,500₫ online.
Phu Quoc to Ho Chi Minh City
The same airlines fly back to Tan Son Nhat in about an hour. By sea, Superdong leaves Bãi Vòng for Hà Tiên at 08:00, 10:20 and 13:30, and Phu Quoc Express at 07:00, 09:00 and 14:00, both 1 hour 30 minutes, about 282,000₫; for Rạch Giá, Superdong leaves at 07:20, 10:10 and 13:30, 2 hours 30 minutes, 405,000₫. From either port it is a long bus ride on to Ho Chi Minh City.

An hour in the air, or a night bus and a boat
Phu Quoc is an island in the Gulf of Thailand, off the Cambodian coast, and from Ho Chi Minh City there are two ways to reach it.
Flying takes about an hour, and for October 2026 Sun PhuQuoc Airways, VietJet and Vietnam Airlines between them had 17 direct flights, with the lowest fares online at about 671,000₫ to 801,000₫. It cost about the same as the bus and boat, and is far quicker.
Bus and boat means a night bus to Hà Tiên on the Cambodian border, 1 hour 30 minutes across by fast boat, or to Rạch Giá, 2 hours 30 minutes across. The companies sell both legs together, leaving Ho Chi Minh City late at night to catch the morning boats.
