Arriving through Da Nang

From Da Nang airport or station. About twenty companies run shared vans and shuttles to Hoi An, picking up at the airport, Ga Đà Nẵng and hotels and dropping near the old town or at your hotel.

G8's airport shuttle waits at pillar 3 (international terminal) and 3A (domestic), first floor, and took about 45 minutes for 126,000₫ to 154,000₫ for October 2026 departures. The Da Nang to Hoi An page lists the companies, the late-night options and the private cars.

By city bus. Route 02 runs from Bến xe Trung tâm Đà Nẵng (Da Nang central bus station) to Bến xe buýt Hội An and on to Cửa Đại beach, every 20 minutes at peak, 8,000₫ to 48,000₫ by distance, under the city's notice of July 2025. The central bus station is not at the airport or the railway station.

Why there is no train to Hoi An. Hội An is not on the railway's station list. Rail travellers get off at Ga Đà Nẵng, where several shuttles collect.

Leaving Hoi An

To catch a flight or a train, book a shuttle to Da Nang airport or Ga Đà Nẵng itself; route 02 ends at the central bus station, which is neither.

Long-distance buses leave from their own offices in town, many on Tôn Đức Thắng and Nguyễn Tất Thành streets, and some collect from hotels and hostels. The sections below name them.

Hanoi to Hoi An: fly to Da Nang, or a long night bus

Fly: Hanoi to Da Nang takes about 1 hour 25 minutes, then a shuttle to Hoi An takes 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. The train to Ga Đà Nẵng takes 15 to 17 hours, from 551,000₫ for a soft seat for October 2026 departures. Direct sleeper buses take 12 to 18 hours; Tuan Trinh's left Bến xe Giáp Bát at 18:00 and reached 61 Nguyễn Tất Thành in Hoi An at 06:00, from 637,000₫ online.

Hue to Hoi An: three hours by limousine bus

The direct limousine bus is simplest: about 3 hours. For October 2026, G8 left 45 Lê Lợi and the Hue railway-station stop 35 times between 05:45 and 19:00 for 32 Nguyễn Phan Vinh or 134 Tôn Đức Thắng in Hoi An, for 210,000₫ to 308,000₫ online, and Hoàng Minh Limousine left Bến xe Nguyễn Hoàng (Nguyen Hoang bus station) for 286,000₫. By rail, take an SE or heritage train to Đà Nẵng and a shuttle on.

By train and shuttle. Huế to Đà Nẵng is about 2 hours 30 minutes on the SE trains, or 3 hours on the heritage train via Lăng Cô (HĐ1 at 07:05, 185,000₫ for a soft seat for October 2026 departures); add 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes by shuttle from Ga Đà Nẵng.

Bến xe buýt Hội An (Hoi An bus station) is the Hoi An stop of Da Nang city bus route 02, which runs from Bến xe Trung tâm Đà Nẵng and on to Cửa Đại beach, according to the city's notice of July 2025. Shared shuttles and long-distance buses use their own offices in town instead.
